Helen Laffitte Hill is a graduate A Pony Clubber. During her Pony Club career, Helen competed on multiple USPC National Teams. She has continued to carry her passion for USPC forward and helped many young riders attain their national ratings. Pulling from the varied foundation USPC ingrains, Laffitte Hill has gone on to develop multiple horses for sport. Notably she has taken her own horses as unstarted youngsters to 3* eventing and 4th level dressage.
Helen's skill and tact in training young horses shines through in her work with horses of all levels. She is capable of correctly bringing horses through the levels without leaving any holes in their foundations. Helen’s abilities on the back of a horse are reflected in her ability to teach thoughtfully from the ground; capable of finding the right turns of phrase for many different students in order to help them get the most out of their horse and make progress in their own riding and training. Helen has helped students to attain their silver medal in dressage, and to complete their first 2 and 3 star events. Helen creates positive lessons focused on developing a harmonious relationship with the horse, leaving riders feeling confident and inspired to continue in developing their forward progression in their work at home.
Joa has competed up to the 2* level in FEI Eventing and Intermediate level for USEF and has brought many horses up to the prelim level successfully. She has a strong emphasis on correct basics and confident building exercises allows horses to feel confident in their job. Having experience in the hunter/equation rings growing up, Joa is also confident going into any sort of show ring. Having spent 4 years working alongside Hollywood horse trainer Rex Peterson, Joa is confident in fixing all sorts of problems that may arise in horses, or teaching new skills. From loading on a trailer, to standing at the mounting block, to teaching a horse lead changes, Joa has the skills and knowledge to help in almost any situation. She enjoys starting young horses and wants to put the best foundation possible to give them a great start in their individual careers. Joa is currently starting all of the young horses for Magnolia Sport Horses.
